Walk for Reconciliation

When the Walk for Reconciliation across the Sydney Harbour Bridge took place on 28 May 2000, it was recognised as one of the biggest expressions of public support for reconciliation ever seen in Australia. More than 250,000 Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people crossed the bridge, from north to south, in a continuous flow for more than six hours.

Coalition ministers and backbenchers, as well as Labor politicians, including then NSW Premier Bob Carr, also took part.
