The NSW public sector Aboriginal Employment strategy, NSW working together for a better future, sets the strategic direction for Aboriginal employment, development and the cultural capability uplift of all staff in the NSW public sector.
The strategy has three key elements which sets out initiatives to reach our commitments:
- building a talent pipeline by attracting more Aboriginal peoples to work in the NSW public sector and helping them advance their careers
- improving Aboriginal cultural capability by teaching all public sector employees to respect and accommodate cultural differences
- engaging with our Aboriginal workforce to help us meet our targets.
A public sector that attracts and nurtures Aboriginal employees will increase economic participation in Aboriginal communities and improve access to quality services and supports.
