The Uluru Statement from the Heart was delivered in 2017 and was developed by delegates at the First Nations Constitutional Convention. The statement invites people to “walk with us in a movement of the Australian people for a better future”. The statement seeks structural reform and constitutional change. This includes establishing a better relationship between Aboriginal people and all Australians based on justice and self-determination. The statement is seeking reforms based on Voice, Treaty and Truth. These reforms provide a clear and practical way forward for self-determination and ongoing Aboriginal voices in parliament and government.
